With Group Tool Calls enabled, automatic goal continuations can hide a completed answer inside a later work group because grouping currently splits only on user messages. For example, an installation completion followed by another autonomous turn disappears from the main transcript.

Retain the session envelope's turn ID in normalized message metadata and split display groups when that ID changes. Each protocol turn keeps its own final reply visible, while intermediate work within that turn still collapses. User-message boundaries remain the fallback for legacy records, and the currently streaming turn stays expanded when requested.

Refs #1763 (work-group display issue). This does not fix malformed envelopes or provider goal status; legacy records without turn metadata retain existing grouping behavior.

Validation: grouping and raw-normalization suites pass (73 tests total), including two consecutive assistant turns with no intervening user message, current-turn expanded/collapsed modes, and metadata propagation from text/tool envelopes. Ran Vitest 3.2.4 with a temporary focused config, source aliases, and explicit TS transform options; full app typecheck, native build, and authenticated UI acceptance were not run. Draft pending broader validation.
