Overview

• Rebuilt the workspace view, with simpler code and fewer components. MultiTaskingWebComtent.vue and SideBarSection.vue are gone :)
• Apps fill all the space beside the sidebar, with no gaps, whether the header is shown, hidden or wrapping ([QUESTION] Customize the workspace view #2172).
• The sidebar can expand to show app names and a search box. Enter opens the first match and Esc clears it. It remembers whether it was expanded.
• New "Open apps" list at the bottom of the sidebar, to switch between apps and close them. With enableMultiTasking, apps keep running until closed ([QUESTION] Customize the workspace view #2172).
• The URL follows the app you're viewing (?url=), so it can be bookmarked or shared, and password managers see the right site ([QUESTION] Workspace utilization #1689).
• target: workspace on a sub-page now opens that sub-page's workspace, not the root one. The same goes for the search bar and the custom search widget ([BUG] Unexpected multipage behavior in workspace mode #1740).
• The active app is highlighted, and its section opens automatically.
• Works on phones: the sidebar becomes a scrollable row above the app.
• Keyboard and screen reader friendly: real links and buttons, labels, focus rings, and expanded state on sections.
• Sidebar items are real links, so ctrl, cmd or middle-click still open a new tab (keeping ✨ Add option to open workspace sidebar items in new tab #2363). newtab, newwindow and clipboard targets are respected.
• Section headers have a chevron and a short slide animation, which is off under reduced motion. Items without an icon show their initials.
• An empty state shows when no app is open, instead of a blank iframe.
• Fixes:
  • launching an app while already in the workspace did nothing
  • URLs containing %xx got corrupted
  • collapsing a widget section relaunched its widgets
  • open sections reset whenever the config changed
  • multitasking crashed on non-Latin URLs
• Fixed a tooltip bug, affecting the whole app, where hover plus focus left an orphaned tooltip on screen.
• Added tests for the workspace view, sidebar, URL matching and the workspace route helper, and updated the docs.
