Summary

Adds Notra AI traffic tracking (@usenotra/geo) to the docs site (apps/docs) so AI crawler and referral visits are recorded.

  • apps/docs/proxy.ts (new, Next 16 proxy) — creates the tracker once and runs it in after(), so it never delays or alters the response. Errors are swallowed. Static assets / _next are excluded via matcher.
  • Opt-in: when NOTRA_GEO_TOKEN is unset the tracker is never created and the proxy is a pass-through — no errors, no warnings.
  • turbo.json — NOTRA_GEO_TOKEN added to globalEnv.

Checklist

  • Follows conventions in AGENTS.md
  • pnpm build passes
  • Docs updated (if applicable)
  • Screenshots attached (if UI changed)

Notes

Typecheck and ESLint pass on proxy.ts; full pnpm build not run locally.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • The documentation site can now use geographic request information when configured. Requests continue to load normally if the geographic service is unavailable.
    • Geographic request processing can be enabled through configuration, allowing the site to support location-aware experiences without changing how visitors access documentation.

Walkthrough

The docs app adds optional Notra GEO request tracking. When NOTRA_GEO_TOKEN is set, the proxy schedules GEO processing and continues the request.

Changes: Docs GEO tracking

Layer / File(s) Summary
GEO dependency and environment wiring
apps/docs/package.json, turbo.json
The docs package adds @usenotra/geo, and Turbo declares NOTRA_GEO_TOKEN as a global environment variable.
Request proxy tracking
apps/docs/proxy.ts
The proxy creates a GEO proxy when the token is set, schedules it for matching requests, suppresses errors, and returns NextResponse.next(). The matcher excludes Next.js static assets, images, and favicon.ico.

Some docs visits may not be recorded when the serverless runtime ends. Pass the Proxy event to GEO before merging to make tracking reliable.

Add @usenotra/geo to the committed pnpm-lock.yaml.

The apps/docs importer in pnpm-lock.yaml lists only @chenglou/pretext. The manifest now declares @usenotra/geo, so the lockfile and package.json disagree. pnpm rejects an install in frozen-lockfile mode when they disagree, and it enables that mode by default in CI environments. Such an install can fail before the docs build runs.

Run pnpm install at the repository root, then commit the updated pnpm-lock.yaml.

Minor · Pass the Proxy event to createGeoProxy. · proxy.ts:14

Pass the Proxy event to createGeoProxy.

@usenotra/geo@0.7.0 starts tracking without the event, but it calls event.waitUntil only when the event is provided. The returned geo(request) promise does not wait for the ingest request. The current after callback can therefore finish before tracking completes, so a serverless runtime may terminate and lose the event.

Suggested fix
-export function proxy(request: Request) {
+export function proxy(
+  request: Request,
+  event: { waitUntil(promise: Promise<unknown>): void },
+) {
   if (geo) {
-    after(() => geo(request).catch(() => {}))
+    after(() => geo(request, event).catch(() => {}))
   }

Update the proxy function to accept the Proxy event and pass it to geo(request,
event) inside the existing after callback, so geo can register its ingest
promise with event.waitUntil.
