Bibledit cloud has become slow as molasses

I have recently made Progressive Web Apps with SIL Scripture App Builder for three of our projects.

Now I have noticed that Bibledit cloud on my Android tablet is asking to be 'installed' just like a PWA. I am not sure that the operating system is actually making it a PWA.

HOWEVER for myself on Android and to our member using Bibledit Cloud on her Windows computer, Bibledit Cloud is working V E R Y S L O W.
It seems to me that Bibledit started to respond very slowly about the time you worked on several bugs in the displaying of verses.
Is it working slower for you? One example would be changing chapter and verses using the menu. This seems to go about twice as slow as before recent changes or upgrades.

You mention "Bibledit Cloud", but "Bibledit Cloud" is not supported on Android in any way.

Did you change your terminology for Bibledit?

Some of our members have prefered using Bibledit in a browser on any device, usually Android tablets or Windows computers. We call that the cloud version.

The advantage of the cloud version is that it is always up-to-date with the server in any of our five projects. If the Bibledit Android program has not been used in a long time, it can take it a long time to sync up all the changes in 5 different translation programs, going in alphabetical order through the projects.

About 6 months ago, I complained of several issues with Bibledit in a browser, like the vertical position of the editing cursor not being maintained. When you worked on those issues, it seemed that Bibledit started to be slower in response. My team member and I just assumed that this was due to a slow Internet connection. But just last night we both remarked how long it takes for Bibledit to respond these days.

Nowadays Bibledit cloud in a browser can be installed like a Progressive Web App (PWA). Have you noticed this?

I discovered one reason for Bibledit cloud to respons slowly. When I checked our server, the last line of the initial report said "Restart Required." Rebooting the server seems to have helped.

Just now there's an issue with Bibledit Cloud in that it does not restart as often as required, and as you noticed, it logs such an issue. A new update is going to be released with a fix in this area, so it restarts as often as needed to keep the speed high. Till that version has been released, it will be required to restart Bibledit Cloud manually at regular intervals, say, every few days or so.

As for the Progressive Web App, I have not noticed this before, good that you found it. An issue, #1125, was opened about it to look into this whether this can be supported. So far it has not been tested, and running it is for not guaranteed to work as expected.

There's a new version of Bibledit Cloud in the Ubuntu PPA, which has the fix for the Restart issue. It is version 5.1.057

Bibledit became slow again. This time it was the Android client app, however. Lots of errors in the journal.
When I entered into the server, it said Restart Required again at the very bottom of the display.
So I wonder if this issue was really fixed.

After I did a restart, I did an apt update and apt upgrade.
The journal in the Android cliant program still seemed stuck here. No movement.
