Updates ex_money_sql from 2.0.0 to 2.1.0

Release notes

Sourced from ex_money_sql's releases.

Ex Money SQL Version 2.1.0

Changed

  • Money.DDL now generates its SQL from Localize.Ecto.TaggedDecimal.DDL in localize_sql instead of reading bundled .sql files. A money amount is a tagged decimal — a currency code paired with an amount — so it shares the composite type, aggregate and operator machinery with units rather than defining its own.

  • The public API is unchanged, as are the money_with_currency type, every generated function name and the SQLSTATE (22033) raised on a currency mismatch, so an existing database needs no migration.

  • Requires ex_money ~> 6.2 (raised from ~> 6.0) and the new localize_sql ~> 1.0. postgrex is now a declared dev and test dependency rather than an undeclared transitive one.

  • The bundled .sql files that Money.DDL used to read are removed, since the SQL is now generated. Editing one had no effect on the emitted migration. priv/SQL/postgres/get_currency_code_type.sql remains — Money.Migration still reads it to detect whether an existing money_with_currency type uses varchar or char(3).

  • A GitHub Actions workflow runs the test suite against PostgreSQL across Elixir 1.17–1.20 and OTP 26–29, with formatting, Credo, coverage, dialyzer and documentation checks on the canonical entry. config/test.exs now reads its database settings from the libpq environment variables, so the same configuration serves CI and local development.

  • Money.SQL.JSON adapts the Erlang :json module to the interface Postgrex expects of a :json_library, so config :postgrex, :json_library, Money.SQL.JSON works on every supported Elixir and OTP version. The previously suggested JSON module requires Elixir 1.18, which this library does not: it supports 1.17.

Fixed

  • The generated unary - operator now names money_negate, the function it defines; it previously named money_neg, so the migration failed. No mix task emitted it, so it was dormant.

  • test_coverage named ExCoveralls without depending on it, so mix test --cover failed. excoveralls is now a test dependency and coverage is enforced at 90%.

  • The two doctests in Money.DDL never compiled — their escapes were interpreted by the surrounding heredoc, producing invalid syntax. They now use ~S heredocs and run.

  • The sum, min and max combine functions no longer reference an undeclared variable in their currency-mismatch branch, which would raise inside a parallel aggregate rather than reporting the mismatch.

  • min and max are created with CREATE OR REPLACE AGGREGATE, so re-running the migration succeeds as it already did for sum.

  • The generated infix - operator no longer declares commutator = -; subtraction is not commutative.

  • Money.Migration matches the query result structurally rather than as a Postgrex.Result struct, so the module compiles when postgrex is not loaded.
